We have been learning about algebraic patterns. Patterns can be made from shapes, colours, sounds (music) or numbers. Patterns can repeat or grow. We have been learning to recognise and continue patterns. We have been making our own patterns.
Working with patterns helps us become familiar with numbers, shapes and their properties and develop our problem solving and thinking skills (not to mention artistic/musical talent).
Last Wednesday we made some great music patterns at music with Mrs Gain ... chicken (1-2), egg (1).
We are starting to recognise rules and strategies so we can work out what comes next in different patterns, but also be able to look at them and make generalisations about them...

We had buddy class on Friday. Our buddies helped us to make shape patterns using KidPix. Some of us turned these into letter patterns. We are good at making algebraic patterns.
